Day 1

06am wheels up Kununurra and fly in on a one hour flight in an airvan.

Bec meets you at the airstrip in the 4wd airconditioned and comfortable , she will greet you at the airstrip with tea coffee and damper fresh off the fire, local jams and native bee honey its about an hours drive to the northern Massifs where she will welcome you to country with ta traditional muntha - Echidna is about a 2 km walk it is uneven stone but a flat walk into the chasm level 2 walk .

Echidna look out is up the hill and about 1km return about a level 2 walk due to the hill not that steep but you know you are going up

The walk around the to the blood woods is a very easy level 2 walk around the perimeter of the Echidna Chasm to the blood woods, very flat a very smoot path. For this walk Bec goes ahead and drives the car forward and walks back in and meets everyone half way . Those that want to go up in the mini palms gorge she shows them the way and stays back with anyone who does not want to go in, for a relaxing sit under the blood woods in the shade.

Mini palms is a separate walk and level 4 it is about 3km return and for the fit people in the group.

Then the afternoon drinks is a 4wd to sit on the camping chairs with a sparkling on the flat and watch the sun set over the bungles before returning to the lodge, shower relax and 3 course dinner .

The next morning after breakfast on the deck, pack up your gear Bec will put it in the car and you head around to the southern side of the Bungles, is a walk into the beehive domes and looking at bush Medicinals and tasting any bush tucker (seasonal). This is a very easy walk on good flat paths. About 800m and circles onto the track to walk into Cathedral gorge another 2km return.

Then into Cathedral gorge this is about a 3km return from the car park it is a very easy walk, one small very secure foot ladder to climb up into the gorge where it is cool and Bec stays in there for lunch and singing for about an hour , so you can rest and relax. and take in the ancient place .

On the way back Bec goes up Piccininy Creek to the look out this is about a 1.2 km walk and she will have a few chairs at the turn off if you don't want to walk up to the creek you can sit in the shade and watch the world go buy in the bungles , wait for the others to come back before heading back to the car park with them.

So there are options for every walk you don't have to do all of them, and it is easy to sit out. We head back to the airstrip at 3 for afternoon sparkles and beer and cheeseboard , before boarding your plane and flying back to Kununurra , where we drop you to your accommodation, by about 5.30pm.

It is a beautiful overnight in the Bungles if you can do I really encourage you to , it is a deeply immersive trip with a custodian for country guide, nominated for WA tour guide 2024 Rebecca Sampi and  it is an exceptional experience.

I have attached the visitors guide so you can see the walks .
