Come with us for unique and authentic Kimberley experiences,
departing Darwin to the renowned Bullo River Station on the edge of the remote
Kimberley, for a 2 night stay in their luxury accommodation with legendary
outback hospitality. Bullo River station leads the way in best pastoral
practice with a commitment to environmental and indigenous conservation. Here
you’ll live and breathe life on a cattle station. Learn about their philosophy,
visit the cattle yards, solar shed and even the kitchen gardens before drinks
around the fire and dinner. Th evenings give you the opportunity to star
gaze with their station telescope and for early risers come and see the
abundance of bird life on the billabong. These 2 days are filled with activities,
including crocodile spotting on the Bullo River, exploring the vast paddocks
and a scenic helicopter adventure around the area; the perfect way to
appreciate the vast station scape.



After these incredible 2 days fly across the border from the
Northern Territory to the remote East Kimberley of WA, landing in UNESCO World
Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park (The Bungle Bungles). Purnulu is part
of Gija and Jaru Country, they are the custodians of this country and will be
hosting your 2 nights stay here. Kingfisher’s head guide and local Gija, Woolah
woman, Rebecca Sampi will meet you at the remote airstrip and take you in our airconditioned
4WD to the famous geomorphic phenomenon that is the beehive domes. Here you’ll
have a picnic lunch, be welcomed to country in a traditional muntha ceremony. From
here, begin the trek into the heart of the Bungles, Cathedral Gorge. As you go
you’ll learn about traditional bush tucker and bush medicines, hear the stories
of the countrymen who walked this land before you and upon entering the gorge
share the space with Rebecca in her cultural way, through songs, storytelling,
sand drawings or dance. Continue through to Picaninny Lookout for sunset drinks
and afternoon tea before a delicious 3 course dinner under the stairs on the
deck of your luxury accommodation.



The next day is your opportunity to explore the Northern mastiff! You’ll
enjoy freshly made damper for morning tea, before trekking into Echidna Chasm
and watching it glow gold as the morning sun breaks through the walls. Rebecca
will guide you through the chasm and mini palms before exploring some of the
caves in the area. You’ll hear the dreaming stories of the cheeky echidna and be
immersed in the cultural history of the area. Enjoy another extraordinary
sunset at the northern ridge before returning for dinner. Tonight, you’ll be able
to join Rebecca around the campfire for stargazing and hear the nighttime
dreaming of the cosmos, seeing more of it than ever before.



For early risers on the 5th and final day there’s an
option to go with your guide at first light to the domes and bask in their
majesty as they come to life with the rising sun – this is at no extra cost and
a spectacular photo opportunity. Return for a light breakfast, followed by a
leisurely trip in the 4WD back to the airstrip for your return to Darwin.
